The Spirits and Spells of The Savage Empire
(Note: Only Triolo can use magic in this game)
Within Eodon, magic is not generated within the individual, but instead the spirits of the valley are prayed to by invoking their totem and offering a sacrifice.

Overall, the magic within The Savage Empire is very simple:
There are three totems, and three magical offerings, offering a total of nine spells.

Spirit Totems Offering
Heluzz Yopo

Aphazz Pinde

Motazz Chocolatl

Heluzz
(The Human Skull)
Detect Hostile
Required Offering: Yopo (The Green One)

Effects: Triolo asks Heluzz to let him know where danger might be. In return, the spirit either tells him that there is no danger nearby, or it informs him of which direction danger is in.

Possible Glitch: Sometimes, as in the video here, the direction the spirit gives is directly opposite where the danger actually is (In this case, the danger was actually to the West and Southwest).
Eagle Eye
Required Offering: Pinde (The Red One)

Effects: After offering the spirit pinde, Triolo astral projects into the sky to get a view of the land around the party.

The party will be represented by white dots in the center of the screen, one dot per party member. However, any other living creature or human also shows up as a white dot, making it impractical to use inside of a village.
Make Light
Required Offering: Chocolatl (The Yellow One)

Effects: Surrounds the party in the same amount of light that a torch would. Not enough to light up the entire screen, but more than enough to make it easier to see where the party is going, or what is coming after them.

The length of the effect varies, but generally lasts for a few minutes.
Aphazz
(The Gorilla Skull)
Protection
Required Offering: Yopo (The Green One)

Effects: Calling upon Aphazz for protection surrounds the entire party with a bright blue nimbus that helps repel damage. It essentially raises their armor class as long as the spell is active.

The protection does not last very long, usually only a few steps, so it is best used as a means of escape, or to give a chance to heal, rather than a means of continued battle.
Heal
Required Offering: Pinde (The Red One)

Effects: Just like the master shamans do, Triolo calls to the spirits to heal the entire party. However, because he is only a shaman-in-training, he cannot completely heal the party all at once.

Every member of the party recovers some lost hit points and is cured of the Poisoned Status.
Charm Enemies
Required Offering: Chocolatl (The Yellow One)

Effects: The Spirit of Aphazz convinces enemies to temporarily join the side of the party. Has a chance to affect every enemy on screen, including those hidden in the dark. Enemies Charmed gain a bright-blue glow and attack any non-charmed enemies nearby (even if they're off screen).

Every round a Charmed enemy has a chance of shaking off the Charm and turning on the party. However, each individual enemy has their own chance to shake it off, so they come out of it one at a time, not all at once.
Motazz
(The Sabretooth Tiger Skull)
Battle Frenzy
Required Offering: Yopo (The Green One)

Must be in Battle Mode to use this spell.

Effects: Triolo uses the spirit of Motazz to whip up the party into a fury. All combat skills (Strength and Dexterity) are increased as long as the effect lasts. Party members affected gain a dark blue aura.

Possible Glitch: When the effects are in place, there is no change to a character's profile abilities. It's possible nothing actually changes.
Curse Enemy
Required Offering: Pinde (The Red One)

Must be in Battle Mode to use this spell.

Effects: Triolo calls upon Motazz to curse the party's enemies. Affected enemies gain a dark blue aura. As long as the curse is on them, their combat skills (Strength and Dexterity) are lowered.
Summon Animal
Required Offering: Chocolatl (The Yellow One)

Must be in Battle Mode to use this spell.

Effects: Triolo asks Motazz to send help during a battle. If successful, a sabretooth tiger appears to help the party.

Only has about a 50% chance of success, and only works once per battle. Does not work inside of caves or in Kotl city, limiting its usefullness.
